Medal of Honor-An outstanding act in the line of duty at imminent personal hazard of life, with full knowledge of the risk involved.
Combat Cross-An individual act of heroism, at imminent personal hazard of life in combat with an armed adversary.
Grand Cordon-Individual participation by a member of an operating unit whose efforts led the entire department staff in a cited action.
Life Saving-An act performed in the line of duty, which through disregard of personal safety or prompt and alert action, results in saving a life.
Unit Citation-A team effort under combat conditions including all participating staff members, who in support of Departmental operations, distinguished themselves to effectuate the protection of life and property.
Good Conduct-One year of service without reprimand or instance of report for any matter.
Croix De Negotiator Laurel- Maintaining the presence of composure, alert talk-down and witt under extreme circumstances which prevented a life threat.
Ready Commendation- Completion of 15 years of service and continuing to qualify as being professionally ready to perform and dispatch his/her duties in the highest level of performance.
Exceptional Service- A highly creditable accomplishment bringing public acclaim to the officer, his/her department and the law enforcement profession as a result of training and devotion to duty or service to the public.
Gallantry Star- An act of distinguished bravery in the arrest of a person who is a major threat to the welfare of the community and/or the officer.
Meritorious Service-A highly unusual accomplishment under adverse conditions with some degree of hazard to life and limb to the nominee or where death or injury to a third party is prevented.
Wounded in Combat- A wound received in the line of duty, inflicted intentionally by an armed adversary and resulting in severe puncture wounds, lacerations, fractures, heart failure, or concussions being suffered by nominee.
Honorable Service-A creditable act in the line of duty, which meets some, but not all of the requirements for other medals, and is unusual in nature, showing initiative and accomplishment.
Educational Achievement- Achievement of 65 credits towards a degree and/or the introduction of a new method or device to improve departmental procedures.
